introduction: for this years surface magazine entry i wanted the judges to get a sense of my photography, but also treat the project as an editorial with a consistent theme, concept and feel. i also put it images into a layout that might be seen in a magazine and gave credit to the designers, shops, locations, and the very talented team of individuals that helped me put the whole concept together.
the concept: natural selection. i wanted to put together an editorial that featured a selection of nw designers and clothing made entirely of natural fiber with simple, clean lines and strong structural elements. i wanted to mirror the natural fibers of the clothing with locations with strong natural elements. trees. i felt that the clean lines of the clothes and long limbs of the model would also benefit from the strong simple lines of the trunks and branches. i am extremely happy the way the concept turned out.
